David Hottman

Dave was a founder of ReqExperts in 1993. He became President of Requirements Experts in December 2007 after serving many years as Vice-President. In addition to his corporate duties, Dave provides requirements and systems engineering expertise to customers in the government and aerospace industry. Daves primary focus in recent years has been the implementation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems within the government.

David was a partner at Bruce G. Jackson and Associates (1985-1993) where he won a NASA SBIR for the development of a tool for requirement management and created the Document Director and Vital Link systems engineering product lines. Vital Link was the most advanced of any tools of its kind in the late 80s and early 90s.

As a Systems Engineer for Martin Marietta Aerospace Corporation and McDonnell Douglas Corporation (1980-84) David was responsible for the development of requirements specifications, contract end item specifications (CEI), interface control documentation, and specification of large military computer systems.. David’s responsibilities included integration of complex computer systems on multiple spacecraft with the Space Shuttle’s data processing systems. He also was instrumental in the development of requirements for several multi-million dollar software development projects to automate the development of the Space Shuttle’s software for each flight.

David received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University with emphasis in Computer Systems. David is a Past President of the Colorado Chapter of the International Council of Systems Engineering and a Member of the Institutue Of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for 35 years.
